Our EPDM rubber roofing systems, for example, boast a lifespan of up to 50 years and will not crack, blister, or tear like traditional roofing felt. Furthermore, if you select our premium composite cladding options, you entirely eliminate the need for painting or varnishing. Even our natural timber cladding options, such as Western Red Cedar, contain natural oils that make them highly resistant to decay and insects, meaning any treatment you apply is purely for aesthetic preference rather than structural necessity.

Spring Care

Wash down the exterior cladding to remove winter grime. Clean the glazing inside and out, and clear away any debris that may have gathered around the ground screw base over the winter months.

Summer Maintenance

Ensure trickle vents are open to allow airflow during hot days. Lubricate bi-fold door tracks to ensure they glide smoothly for summer entertaining, and check any exterior decking.

Autumn Preparation

This is the most critical time to check and clear the hidden rear gutters of fallen leaves to ensure proper water drainage. If treating natural cedar cladding, apply the UV oil now before winter hits.

Winter Protection

Maintain a low ambient temperature inside using the thermostatic heaters to prevent severe temperature fluctuations. Occasionally air the room on dry days to prevent stale air buildup.

Common Issues & Solutions

Mild Condensation

Because our Kingspan rooms are incredibly airtight, new builds might experience slight condensation as the fresh plaster dries out. Solution: Keep trickle vents open and gently heat the room during the first few weeks.

Stiff Door Mechanisms

Over time, dust can settle in the tracks of heavy bi-fold doors, making them harder to push. Solution: Vacuum the bottom tracks and apply a light silicone spray to the rollers.

Silvering Cedar

Natural cedar will bleach to a silver-grey under UV light. This is not a structural defect. Solution: If you prefer the original rich color, lightly sand and apply a cedar-specific UV protection oil.
